OK the stockmarket has been crazy so is there anything else?

 

Let me give you something to think through.

 

THere are some Syndicates I have done due diligence on which are worthy of consideration. Infact they have very good track records & are uncorrelated to the markets. Let me explain.  There are many ways to invest in the property market. One of the best would be to buy a run down property & add value to it by repair & modernisation. The snag is having the skills needed. As well as knowing the building trade to repair it you need the skill of knowing what price to pay for it ,how to budget for the upgrade & indeed what standard will sell best. This is vert different to what you personally like. A target market of students is very different to young professionals or family living. No good in spending money that is not going to make you a profit. If you have watched TV programs on the subject you will know how many things can go wrong even for the experts. On paper it looks like just restoring a few properties makes you a millionaire. Sure will if you dont go bust on the way.

 

So you dont have those skills. Dont despair there are companies that do & prefer to finance through private syndicates rather than banks & finance houses. They are the happy ones now. Private money is still there, clients tend to roll it over from one project to the next, whereas banks are very short of cash to lend. I know of syndicates in Australia,UK, Hong Kong & Canada. Some specialise in private property some commercial. Some projects are small with fast turn around some are large with a slower turn around. Check them out carefully. If they are sound as many are you can get a good return in these difficult times.
